Crittenden Regional Hospital’s HOME HEALTH agencies receive Quality Awards

Crittenden Regional Hospital’s Home Health agencies in West Memphis and Marked Tree was recently awarded 6 out of the 13 home health quality awards presented during AFMC’s 16th Quality Conference, held May 19-20 at the Hot Springs Convention Center. The Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC) presented these awards in recognition of their commitment to excellence in health care.
The home health agencies won awards for all three types of Quality Awards available: Best Achievement, Most Improved and Innovator. Results for Best Achievement and Most Improved were based on quality of care data. Innovator Awards were presented to home health agencies that demonstrated a system change that resulted in improved processes and outcomes. The agency must have served as a mentor to other agencies in implementing similar changes.
“Although we are certainly thrilled over winning the awards, I am not surprised”, says Cindy Parker, Director of Homecare Services, “We have such a high-quality, community-oriented, committed staff, who continually strive to improve the quality of care provided. In fact, that is one of the reasons we choose to be accredited by the Joint Commission. Many people who are not involved in the health care arena do not know who The Joint Commission is or what they do, but it’s the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care and has maintained state-of-the-art standards that focus on improving the quality and safety of care provided by health care organizations since 1951.” To earn and maintain The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™, an organization must undergo an extensive on-site survey by a Joint Commission survey team at least every three years. Crittenden Regional Hospital home health agencies are unique in that they have been accredited since 1995 and are the only home health agencies in Crittenden County with this elite designation.
