February 24, 2009
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT: Rebecca Winter,
Charlotte Gray, RN, RNP, has been been recognized as the 2008 Crittenden Regional Hospital Employee of the Year. Charlotte serves as Employee Health Nurse and has been on the Human Resources team since August 2007. The Employee of the Year is selected from those top performers who were recognized as Employees of the Month during the past year. Mrs. Gray was honored during a Valentine's gathering and presented with a plaque and a check for $366. Mrs. Gray has been a part of Crittenden Regional Hospital for many years. She started her career at what eventually became Crittenden Primary Care, recruiting physicians such as Dr. Kenneth Nadeau and Dr. Trent Pierce. In 1981, Charlotte was hired by the Foundation of the hospital to help open what was to become the Day Surgery Unit at the hospital. Charlotte worked in the hospital's Cardiac Rehab unit for five years. She taught for nine years at both EACC and MSCC.
Charlotte also worked in our Day Surgery Unit and with many physicians. Charlotte received her BSN and MSN from Arkansas State University and graduated first in her class with both degrees. She was named Outstanding Clinical Student and received the President's Award while at ASU.
Charlotte is a native of Hermitage, Arkansas, but is a long-time West Memphis resident. She is active at First Baptist Church where she's headed the Children's Division for 26 years! She is also a tutor for West Memphis schools.
Charlotte is most proud of her family; son Paul and daughter Susan, and their children. Charlotte's daughter, Susan Waggener, a math teacher at West Memphis High School, was recently named Arkansas' Teacher of the Year.
