FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Crittenden Regional Hospital celebrated both National Healthcare Quality and National Infection Control Weeks, October 19-25 with the slogan of "It's Everybody's business". The week began with a story board exhibition highlighting the importance of quality care and infection control. The Hospital's Board of Trustees judged the entrants and awarded First Place to the Business Office. All employees were encouraged to browse the boards and test their knowledge for reward. Prizes were provided by Bard Statlock, Chloraprep, Phil Alber's of Sicily's, Accent Flowers, The Gift Cottage, A Basket of Flowers, Material Girls and Imagine That.
The Hospital's second annual flu shot party for employees, volunteers, and healthcare students was held Thursday. Flu shot recipients enjoyed cookies, punch, and camaraderie after their inoculations.
In 1996, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the third week in October as National Infection Control Week. It's an annual event that spotlights the infection control profession and its work in educating healthcare practitioners, administrators, legislators, and consumers about reducing risk of infection factors.
National Healthcare Quality Week celebrates healthcare quality professionals and highlights the specialty's influence on improved patient care outcomes and more effective healthcare delivery systems.
