Each year, Crittenden Regional Hospital hosts Marion High School’s Medical Professions Education (Med Pro-Ed) students and provides lunch and a tour to the students. This year over sixty students toured the hospital and learned about the Hospital’s history and importance in our community, and the many different specialties health care has available. As a service project, the students collected and donated $216 for the Crittenden Regional Hospital Foundation.
The Med Pro-Ed program at Marion High School is designed to provide students who are interested in any medical profession with a foundation towards a medical career. They have the opportunity to decide whether they are interested in the medical field, and if so, what area they may want to work in. It is important to our local health community because the students who grew up here are more likely to come back and serve their hometown.
The Crittenden Regional Hospital Foundation exists as an inspiration to the people of Crittenden County in sustaining the hospital’s mission. It also provides an array of giving and volunteer opportunities by which individuals and corporations can play an active role in the betterment of the hospital. Anyone can support the Crittenden Regional Hospital Foundation by mailing a donation to the Crittenden Regional Hospital Foundation, 200 Tyler Avenue, West Memphis, Ark., 72301, or via the Web at http://foundation.crittendenregional.org.
