To celebrate and honor nurses, aides, social workers, hospice volunteers and any other caregivers, who make such a difference in the lives of others, West Memphis Mayor Johnson signed a National Home Care and Hospice Month Proclamation. During the month of November, Crittenden Regional Hospital Homecare and Hospice Services observe National Home Care and Hospice Month, Home Care Aide Week, and National Volunteer Month. CRH Home Health and Hospice agencies will kick-off the celebrations with the Mayor’s Proclamation and continue with other festive events throughout November.

More than 11 million Americans receive home-delivered health care from home health care providers. “Our goal is to meet the patient’s medical needs while allowing them to stay independent and happy in the comfort and privacy of their own homes. Caring for the patient is truly a privilege for us,” says Cindy Parker, Director of Homecare Services. Homecare professionals and volunteers, supported by advanced medical technologies make it possible for the sick to find the quality of life with their loved ones in a familiar environment. Homecare services are paid for by public and private sources or directly by patients and their families. Third-party payers include commercial insurance, managed-care organizations, CHAMPUS, worker’s compensation, Medicare and state-run Medicaid. Despite massive cutbacks in government funding, home care continues to be the preferred means of receiving quality health care services for millions of Americans.

Crittenden Regional Hospital Home Care and Hospice services, (formerly Hospital Home Health and Haven Hospice), were founded in the early 1990’s, to provide comprehensive in-home and supportive services for disabled, chronically ill and terminally ill patients and their families in Crittenden and surrounding counties.
