Patch Adams to Speak at Peabody

The Crittenden Regional Hospital Foundation today announced it will host Patch Adams: Living a Life of Joy, featuring Dr. Hunter “Patch” Adams at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at The Peabody Memphis.
Adams will be the first presenter in Crittenden Regional Hospital Foundation’s new speaker and dinner series. Adams, who founded Gesundheit! Institute in 1971, is widely known for incorporating humor, the joy of service, the creative arts and a variety of healing traditions into his model of care. In 1998, his accomplishments were revealed to the world in the motion picture Patch Adams, starring Robin Williams. Adams is an internationally recognized keynote speaker and professional clown.
“As Crittenden Regional Hospital is part of the greater Mid-South medical community, our foundation wanted to host an inspiring event for everyone in the community – both medical and non-medical,” said Jamie Carter, chief executive officer of Crittenden Regional Hospital. “Dr. Adams delivers a message that applies to all of us, and we are thrilled to have him as our inaugural speaker. We also are excited about the opportunity raise awareness of our hospital and the outreach of our foundation.”
Funds raised from Patch Adams: Living a Life of Joy will go toward the hospital’s programs for patients and the surrounding community, medical equipment and quality improvements. Crittenden Regional Hospital serves residents in eight counties within eastern Arkansas and West Tennessee.
Tickets are $1,000 for a 10-person table or $100 each. Sponsorships for the event are still available, including a $20,000 Presenting Sponsorship; a $10,000 Platinum sponsorship; a $7,500 Gold sponsorship; a $5,000 Silver Sponsorship and a $2,500 Bronze Sponsorship. Single table sponsorships are $1,250. The deadline for reservations is Wednesday, Oct. 28.
